1st Birthday Cake Smash Sessions
Shonda Hope Photography Offers Two 1st Birthday Session Packages.
Cake Smash Sessions are $75 and include:
10 digital images for download in an online gallery
One custom set to match most birthday themes
Up to 3 wardrobe changes
No add-ons available.
Only 1 themed backdrop is used for the entire cake smash birthday session.
Multiple backdrops cannot be used for this package.
Deluxe 1st Birthday Sessions are $125 and include:
20 digital images for download in an online gallery
One custom-themed set to match most birthday themes and 1 solid backdrop for milestone portraits.
Up to 3 wardrobe changes
No add-ons are available.
Your child's session will begin with portraits on a solid backdrop, just like a milestone session. Then we will transition over to the birthday set and begin birthday portraits, saving the cake smash for last.
This session is a milestone session and 1st birthday session bundled into one!
This session includes ONE themed backdrop/set. The Milestone portion will be photographed on a solid backdrop. No additional backdrops will be used during this session.
First Birthday Sessions are in-studio only.
I always photograph the kids in their regular non-messy clothes first before shooting with the cake.
You may have up to 3 outfit changes during your session.
This includes the cake smash outfit, too.
Birthday sessions are for the child who is turning one, only. A family session can be booked for another time if the client wants family and sibling portraits.
Do I need to bring the cake?
Yes, clients are responsible for bringing the cake to the session.
Cakes sizes need to be 6-8 inches round.
We will get a little messy in the studio and that totally fine with me!
I do provide cake stands and plates for the session.
Please note, while choosing cake colors: red, dark blue, black, and dark purple icing tends to stain skin and clothes.
Can my child smash something different for the session?
Absolutely! I am all for creativity and out-of-the-box sessions! If you would rather for your child to smash donuts, pancakes, pies, whipped cream, tacos, spaghetti, ice cream, etc go for it!
Please remember you will be responsible for providing whatever you choose for your child to smash for the session.
Do You Require a Retainer Fee?
A nonrefundable & nontransferable $30 retainer fee is required upon booking but will be deducted from your session fee once you arrive for your session.
An invoice will be sent to your email for you to pay online.
Retainer fees must be paid within 24 hours of booking your session, or the session will be released.

How long does it take to receive my gallery?
Client: If you do not see your email within 21 days, please check your spam folder.
How Covid-19 Affects the Studio
Health and safety are important to Shonda Hope Photography.
The studio has always practiced cleanliness and safety and that has not changed. Shonda always washes outfits or garments - basically, anything that touches the skin of a baby or child during the session is cleaned before it is used, again. This continues to happen as well as sanitizing hands, props, and surfaces.
Shonda wears a facemask for all newborn sessions and upon request for other sessions.
As always, to help reduce the spread of illness and germs, if clients are sick, showing any symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to Covid -19, please reschedule. Shonda has her current immunizations, and always makes sure her health is number one before ever entering the studio. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.
